Finding open images for use in schools
Here are a list of websites for finding copyright free images – these images are either in the public domain or are licensed in terms of Creative Commons. With public domain images you need not acknowledge the source or the author of the images. If you’re using Creative Commons images, you need to specify the title of the image, the author and the license for that image – see the end of the post for an example of how CC licensed images should be referenced.
General images:

Flickr – make sure to take note of the licenses specified on each page or better yet restrict your search to exclude copyrighted images. Use sites such as Compfight and FlickrStorm to make searching for CC licensed images easier.
http://pixabay.com/ – this is a public domain search tool
Accounting and Mathematics:
All sites listed here are free from copyright and in the public domain.

English First and Second Language:
Bitstrips – these cartoons are under a Creative Commons license and Bit Strips have to be attributed. Fantastic site to create your own cartoons for student exercises.
History:
